Headquartered in Shiraz, it has the largest refrigerated storage capacity in the country, supported by a network of strategic branches in several cities for nationwide distribution.
The challenge
Arya Sam Coldstore & Foods Co., a leading apple producer in Iran, was looking for a solution to:
- Increase apple processing capacity while maintaining high quality standards.
- Addressing logistical and operational challenges during the Covid-19 pandemic.
- Expand access to international markets through accurate fruit grading.
The solution
With the cooperation of FUTURA S.r.l., a high-performance apple grading line was implemented.
Main features:
- Processing capacity up to 14-15 tons/hour.
- Use of optical cameras to distinguish apples by color and size, allowing accurate grading.
- Nutrition system through water lanes to preserve fruit integrity during the process.
- Centralized control via a PC that manages all machines, updating the product archive in real time.
- Remote supervision for immediate technical assistance and preventive maintenance.

The Challenges of Covid-19
The line was assembled during lockdowns in Europe and Iran.
